Armenia's capital Yerevan has emerged as the most budget-friendly getaway for travelers from Russia during the upcoming May holidays.
The most affordable option this season is a five-day city break in Yerevan with departure on May 3. The trip costs around 20,000 rubles ($267.11) for two people, including flights, The Caspian Post reports via Russian media.
At the other end of the spectrum, the most expensive holiday package booked for the May break exceeded 9 million rubles ($120,201). For about 9.2 million rubles ($122,867), a family of three will spend 13 days in the Maldives - one of the priciest premium trips recorded this season.
“The average check surpassed 3 million rubles ($40,066) per person, making this one of the most expensive bookings in the premium segment of May sales,” the company said.
The sharp contrast in travel costs highlights a wide range of options for Russian tourists - from ultra-luxury island escapes to affordable city tours in Armenia’s capital.
