Politician and businessman Samvel Karapetyan has officially been nominated by the "Strong Armenia" party for the position of Prime Minister of the Republic.

The candidate for the position of Prime Minister of Armenia from our party will be Samvel Karapetyan, said Narek Karapetyan, coordinator of the opposition "Our Way" movement, The Caspian Post reports, citing foreign media.

Earlier, the Anti-Corruption Court of Armenia lifted the ban on public appearances by Karapetyan.

On January 18, Karapetyan was transferred from a Yerevan detention center to house arrest, and dozens of citizens gathered near his home.
