An accidental gunshot occurred at Armenia’s Ministry of Economy when a security guard discharged his firearm unintentionally, authorities confirmed.

The 21-year-old guard suffered a gunshot wound to his left lower leg and was hospitalized, The Caspian Post reports, citing Armenian media.

Officials have described his condition as stable. The police were alerted to the incident at 16:56 local time.

The circumstances of the event remain under investigation, including whether the gunshot was self-inflicted or involved another person.
