Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan Enhance Tax Cooperation

Orkhan Nazarli, Head of the State Tax Service under Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy, met with Sherzod Kudbiyev, Chairman of Uzbekistan’s State Tax Committee, on the sidelines of the 29th General Assembly of the Intra-European Organization of Tax Administrations (IOTA) held in Baku.

The meeting focused on the current state of and prospects for cooperation between the tax administrations of the two countries, The Caspian Post reports.

Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration in the use of digital technologies, improving tax administration, and enhancing transparency in taxpayer relations.

Orkhan Nazarli highlighted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in taxation has been progressing positively. He praised the mutual interest in reforms aimed at improving tax administration and advancing digitalization, noting that exchanging experience in these areas could bring significant benefits to both countries.

Sherzod Kudbiyev commended Azerbaijan’s tax reforms implemented in recent years and expressed Uzbekistan’s interest in learning from this experience.

The meeting also included an exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest.
