The Azerbaijani State Statistics Committee has announced that Azerbaijan exported 3.191 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye between January and April 2025, earning approximately $894.9 million.
While the volume of exports rose marginally by 4 million cubic meters-a 0.1 per cent increase compared to the same period last year-the value of these exports dropped by $112.1 million, or 11.1 per cent, reflecting a downturn in market prices, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
In the corresponding period of 2024, Azerbaijan’s gas exports to Türkiye totaled 3.187 billion cubic meters, generating $1.007 billion in revenue.
Over the first four months of 2025, Azerbaijan’s overall natural gas imports reached 176.5 million cubic meters valued at $27.2 million. Meanwhile, the country’s total natural gas exports surged to 8.2 billion cubic meters, bringing in $3.1 billion in revenue.
Azerbaijan’s natural gas is exported not only to Türkiye but also to Georgia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Italy, and Greece. Imports primarily come from Russia and Turkmenistan, underscoring Azerbaijan’s strategic role in regional energy markets.
