China and Azerbaijan cooperate on a number of solar and wind energy projects, Chinese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lu Mei said at a reception in Baku marking the 77th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

According to Lu Mei, the green transition has become a prominent feature of China’s modernization, The Caspian Post reports, citing AZERTAC.

“China plays a crucial role in driving the global green transition. The country has established the world’s largest green energy industry chain and provided many countries with access to affordable, high-quality, and environmentally friendly energy solutions,” the diplomat said.

Addressing energy cooperation with Azerbaijan, Ambassador Lu Mei also recalled her participation, alongside Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, in the inauguration of the Gobustan Solar Power Plant.
