Azerbaijan, UAE to Conduct Joint Military Drills

The main planning conference for the “Shield of Peace 2026” exercise, to be conducted with the participation of servicemen from the Azerbaijan Army and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Armed Forces, was held in Baku on December 25.

Organized at Azerbaijan's Ministry of Defense, the event brought together military delegations from both countries, who held extensive discussions on the objectives of the exercise scheduled to take place in the UAE in February 2026, The Caspian Post reports, citing the ministry.

The talks also covered activities to be carried out in successive phases of the drill and other related matters.

During the conference, briefings were presented on the tasks to be performed during the “Shield of Peace 2026” exercise, and issues of mutual interest were discussed.

As part of the UAE delegation’s visit to Azerbaijan, the guests toured several military units of the Azerbaijan Army. They were provided with detailed information on the conditions at the units and the training levels of Azerbaijani servicemen.
