Azerbaijan has unveiled new climate action plans designed to tackle climate change, announced COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev on the second day of Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW2025).
Babayev highlighted that transitioning to a green economy was a key topic at COP29, which was also held in Baku. "Energy security and exports were discussed, as well as the next phase of energy transit and clean energy initiatives," he said, The Caspian Post reports citing local media.
He added that the regulation of clean hydrogen was discussed among 60 countries during the summit. Azerbaijan, he noted, is working to make its energy system more flexible.
"We are continuing discussions to ensure the shift to renewable energy. As we fight climate change, and given the critical signals we are seeing, the private sector must also get involved," Babayev stated.
He emphasized that Azerbaijan is investing in green energy and is in the process of defining national targets and priorities in this direction.
