Azerbaijan has expanded its luxury tourism offering with the opening of the Meysari Grand Hotel & SPA in Shamakhi, with President Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attending the inauguration on September 17.

Located in Meysari village at an altitude of 1,050 meters above sea level, the newly built complex is designed as a multifunctional tourism and recreation destination, according to Azertac.

Mehmet Balçik, CEO of Pasha Hospitality, briefed the president and first lady on the facilities and services available at the resort.

The complex includes a main hotel, cottages, restaurants, a conference center, a spa and wellness center, sports facilities, a children’s entertainment center, parking areas and a helipad.

It has 204 rooms in total, including 88 rooms across different categories in the main hotel building and 116 rooms in the cottage section. The property also features three villas.

Guests have access to a wellness center, three swimming pools, gym and Pilates halls, a tennis court, football pitch and padel court.

A dedicated children’s entertainment center is also available, while the helipad is designed to provide access to air transportation when needed.

The complex is also home to the Nasimi Conference Center, which has a capacity of 420 people and is designed for conferences, meetings, presentations, business gatherings and other events.

A separate hall is available for smaller meetings and events, while indoor and outdoor parking facilities have been established on the premises.

The new complex has created 320 jobs, adding to employment opportunities in the region.

Shamakhi is known for its ancient history, cultural heritage, mountain scenery, vineyards and mild climate, making it a popular destination for domestic and international travelers.

The opening of Meysari Grand Hotel & SPA is expected to strengthen the district’s tourism infrastructure, provide new accommodation options for visitors and support greater use of Shamakhi’s tourism potential and local economic opportunities.
