Azerbaijani Solidarity Day Marked in Malaysia

An event commemorating World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day on December 31 was held at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Malaysia.

The event was attended by embassy staff, as well as Azerbaijanis living and studying in Malaysia, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.

Embassy Counsellor Sarkhan Ismayilov spoke about the history and significance of this landmark day, highlighting the special attention paid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev to strengthening the solidarity of Azerbaijanis around the world. He emphasized the importance of Azerbaijanis living in different countries uniting and making joint efforts on issues of national interest, noting that the measures implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev have produced important results in this regard.

Ismayilov also recalled the strong unity and solidarity demonstrated by Azerbaijanis worldwide during the Patriotic War launched five years ago under the leadership of President and Victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev to liberate Azerbaijani lands from occupation. He further underlined the important role played by the Azerbaijani community in Malaysia in strengthening relations between Azerbaijan and Malaysia.

Elchin Huseynov, a doctoral student at the University of Malaya and coordinator of the Azerbaijani diaspora in Malaysia, highlighted the embassy’s efforts to reinforce unity among Azerbaijanis living in the country.
