A delegation from Azerbaijan, comprising members of the country’s State Tourism Agency, joined the high-level events on tourism and climate action held on the margins of the COP30 Conference in Belem, Brazil.
During the events, Gunay Bayramova, member of the State Tourism Agency, briefed the participants on Azerbaijan’s COP29 leadership, particularly its support for the adoption of the Declaration on Enhanced Climate Action in Tourism, which contributed significantly to raising the profile of tourism on the global climate agenda, The Caspian Post reports, citing the agency.
The discussions highlighted that the emerging Global Partnership initiative could serve as a crucial platform to strengthen coordination between countries and business entities.
19-20 November were designated as the Tourism Thematic Days under the theme “Tourism Climate Action: For a Low-Carbon, Climate-Resilient Future” at COP30.
