Azerbaijani, Uzbek Foreign Ministers Hold Talks on Regional Security in Istanbul

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, met with his Uzbek counterpart, Bakhtiyor Saidov, on the sidelines of the 51st Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The meeting covered a wide range of topics, including political, economic, transport and communications, and humanitarian aspects of the Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan partnership, as well as regional and international security issues of mutual concern, The Caspian Post reports.

The foreign ministers emphasized the significant potential for strengthening multilateral cooperation within the UN, OIC, Non-Aligned Movement, Organization of Turkic States, Economic Cooperation Organization, and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

Addressing recent developments in the region, the ministers expressed concern about escalating tensions in the Middle East, particularly the Israel-Iran confrontation.

They also exchanged views on other matters of shared interest.
