Croatia Commemorates Azerbaijan’s Victory Day

An event commemorating Victory Day, organized by the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Croatia, took place in Zagreb.

The ceremony brought together officials of Croatian government institutions, members of parliament, heads of the diplomatic corps accredited in the country, representatives of international organizations, public figures, as well as prominent members of the scientific, cultural and artistic communities and the media, The Caspian Post reports citing AZERTAC.

The National Anthems of Azerbaijan and Croatia were performed, followed by the screening of video clips dedicated to the Patriotic War.

Ambassador Anar Imanov emphasized that the victory achieved in the Patriotic War represents not only a military success, but also embodies national unity, the will of the people, and the determination of the Azerbaijani state.

The diplomat highlighted that Victory Day stands as a pivotal milestone in the modern history of Azerbaijan, opening new opportunities for peace, stability, and development in the region. He also noted that important steps have been taken to normalize relations between the two countries following the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, adding that the agreements reached in Washington mark a decisive stage in the peace negotiations.
