Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Elnur Mammadov, has participated in the prestigious “Dubrovnik Forum,” themed “Channelling the Change,” which convened international leaders and experts to address critical global and regional challenges.
During the event, Mammadov took part in a panel titled “Connecting Europe and Asia: Pathways to Partnership and Prosperity”, The Caspian Post reports, citing local media.
In his remarks, he emphasized the strategic importance of strengthening political and economic cooperation between Europe and Asia, noting that such ties are essential for ensuring international stability and promoting sustainable development.
Mammadov underscored Azerbaijan’s growing role as a reliable partner and a key transport and logistics corridor bridging the two continents. He highlighted the country’s leadership in multilateral initiatives within the transport, energy, and communications sectors, which contribute significantly to regional integration and establish Azerbaijan as a strategic coordinator in the Eurasian region.
On the sidelines of the forum, Mammadov held important discussions with Lu Shaye, head of China’s delegation and Special Representative of the Chinese Government for European Affairs. Their talks focused on the strong strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and China, including recent high-level visits and cooperation agreements aimed at deepening bilateral ties.
Additionally, Mammadov met with Russ Jalichandra, Thailand’s Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, to discuss opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation. The two officials explored prospects for collaboration across economic, cultural, and humanitarian fields, as well as mutual support within multilateral frameworks.
