The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) commemorated the 107th anniversary of Baku's liberation from Armenian-Bolshevik occupation on X, stating that the event marked a turning point in Azerbaijan's fight for statehood, The Caspian Post reports citing local media.
"On this day in 1918, the Islamic Army of the Caucasus, which included the Azerbaijani Corps, entered Baku, putting an end to the Armenian-Dashnak occupation.
The liberation of the capital was a turning point in the struggle for Azerbaijan's statehood, demonstrating the unity, courage, and sacrifice of our people and their allies. 107 years on, we honor with deep gratitude the memory of all who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of our nation," reads the post.
