SOCAR Partners with Global Accounting Body to Boost Financial Expertise and Governance

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to strengthen its financial functions, promote corporate governance, and advance finance and management expertise in line with international standards.

The agreement was signed at CIMA’s headquarters in London by SOCAR Vice President Zaur Gurbanov and CIMA Executive Director Andrew Harding, The Caspian Post informs per local media.

Future initiatives will include joint training programs, certification courses, and knowledge-sharing activities.

Founded in 1919 in the United Kingdom, CIMA operates in over 170 countries, providing high-level training and certification for financial executives and managers. It is also a co-founder of the globally recognized Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) designation, in partnership with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
