Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan has said that a series of agreements reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as a recent deal between Azerbaijan and the US, have created a highly positive outlook for the South Caucasus region.
Fidan noted that the Azerbaijani side consulted with Türkiye regarding the meeting held in Washington and the agreements signed there, The Caspian Post informs via Turkish media.
Touching on the Zangezur Corridor, the minister underlined that Türkiye’s position is based on mutual trust and close cooperation with Azerbaijan.
“At the moment, there are no concrete developments regarding the Zangezur Corridor. The parties will discuss what will happen next and how the situation will evolve. Our stance is based on trust. We trust our Azerbaijani brothers,” Fidan emphasized.
The Turkish foreign minister also welcomed and praised the stance of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on the issue.
