Azerbaijan Welcomes Over 162,000 Tourists from Central Asia in 2025

From January to September 2025, Azerbaijan was visited by 162,106 tourists from Central Asia.

This marks a 10.2 per cent decrease compared to the same period in 2024, when 180,528 tourists visited, The Caspian Post reports via local media.

Tourist Breakdown by Country

Kazakhstan: 78,127 visitors (-9.5 per cent)

Uzbekistan: 44,490 (-9 per cent)

Turkmenistan: 24,029 (-27.2 per cent)

Kyrgyzstan: 8,243 (-5.4 per cent)

Tajikistan: 7,217 (+18.4 per cent)

In total, 1,948,380 foreign tourists visited Azerbaijan during the same period, slightly down 1.76 per cent from 1,983,274 visitors in January-September 2024.

For comparison, in 2024, the flow of Central Asian tourists surged 34.13 per cent to 180,528 people, with the highest growth from Kazakhstan (+48.62 per cent) and Kyrgyzstan (+49.51 per cent).

Between 2017 and 2024, Azerbaijan welcomed a total of 726,258 tourists from Central Asia:

Kazakhstan - 331,428

Uzbekistan - 182,310

Turkmenistan - 178,236

Kyrgyzstan - 30,011

Tajikistan - 24,246
