Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has met with Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov ahead of his upcoming state visit to Moscow to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation and expanding trade and economic ties between Kazakhstan and Russia.
President Tokayev emphasized the importance of his forthcoming visit, expressing confidence that talks in Moscow would further enhance Kazakhstan-Russia relations, The Caspian Post informs via Kazakh media.
He noted that Russia remains one of Kazakhstan’s leading trade partners, with both nations aiming to raise mutual trade turnover to $30 billion in the near future.
The Kazakh leader also highlighted Russia’s growing investment in Kazakhstan’s economy, which reached $4 billion last year, and praised the successful work of Russian companies operating in the country.
Manturov, in turn, thanked President Tokayev for the warm reception and reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to deepen cooperation. He expressed optimism about the successful implementation of ongoing joint projects.
At the meeting, Tokayev awarded Manturov the Order of Dostyk (Friendship), 1st Degree, recognizing his contribution to strengthening economic and cultural ties between the two nations.
President Tokayev is set to pay his first state visit to Russia on November 12, with both sides describing it as an event of “truly international significance.”
