Baku is strengthening its position as an aviation hub linking Central Asia with international air travel markets, with 70 scheduled flights from four Central Asian countries arriving at Heydar Aliyev International Airport over the course of one week.
The flights originated from 10 airports across Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, according to Report.
Kazakhstan accounted for the largest share, with 41 flights, representing approximately 59% of the total. The country’s connections with Baku included 11 flights from Almaty, 10 from Aktau, eight from Astana, six from Atyrau, and three each from Shymkent and Aktobe.
Uzbekistan ranked second with 18 flights. Of these, 15 operated from Tashkent and three from Samarkand.
Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek, recorded six flights to Baku, while Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, accounted for five.
Analysts at Fly Central Asia highlighted Baku’s growing importance as Central Asian countries strengthen their integration into global civil aviation markets.
“Baku represents another key aviation hub that deserves close attention, given the integration of Central Asia into global civil aviation markets,” the analysts said.
