Kyrgyzstan plans to launch a new oil refinery in Kochkor Ata, with an annual production capacity of 450,000 tons of petroleum products.
The project is expected to create around 300 jobs, President Sadyr Japarov announced during a working visit to the Jalal-Abad region, according to Kabar.
Japarov made the announcement during a meeting with local officials and residents of Nooken and Mailuu-Suu.
The president said the refinery is expected to reach full operational capacity by the end of 2026, expanding the country’s petroleum processing capacity and creating new employment opportunities in the region.
During the visit, Japarov also discussed efforts to restore the Mailuu-Suu Electric Lamp Plant, a local industrial enterprise that has been receiving government support since 2022.
“The enterprise has been receiving support since 2022, and the establishment of the Mailuu-Suu Industrial Park is intended to help attract investment, launch new production facilities, and introduce modern technologies,” Japarov said.
The industrial park is intended to attract investors, encourage the development of new manufacturing facilities and support the introduction of modern production technologies.
