Russia Overtakes Kazakhstan as Kyrgyzstan’s Top Chocolate Supplier

Russia has reclaimed its position as Kyrgyzstan’s largest supplier of confectionery and chocolate, overtaking Kazakhstan in the first eight months of 2026.

Meanwhile, Tajikistan remains the main export market for Kyrgyz confectionery products, 24.kg reports.

According to data from Kyrgyzstan’s National Statistical Committee, the country imported $85.8 million worth of confectionery products and raw materials from January to August 2026, up 9.32% compared with the same period last year.

Total imports reached 22,600 tonnes.

Russia accounted for 37.78% of Kyrgyzstan’s confectionery imports, supplying products worth $32.4 million. Kazakhstan ranked second, with a 35.16% share valued at $30.2 million.

Ukraine, Germany and Uzbekistan also ranked among the country’s five largest suppliers.

Despite Russia’s leading position in imports, Tajikistan remains the primary destination for Kyrgyzstan’s own confectionery exports.
