Eldar Attokurov, Director of the Kyrgyz National Library, has said that libraries across Central Asian countries and Azerbaijan are preparing to create a shared digital database of rare books and ancient manuscripts.
Attokurov said that following recent negotiations, the heads of national libraries agreed to digitize and combine their most valuable collections, The Caspian Post reports via Kyrgyz media.
“Our scholars, students, and researchers will be able to use this database equally. A memorandum will be signed in the near future,” he noted. The next meeting-initiated by Azerbaijan’s National Library-will take place in Baku to finalize the project details.
The initiative is expected to strengthen cultural cooperation and improve access to historic materials across the region.
