An exhibition titled "From Sufism to Textile: Sacred Geometry in the Art of Weaving," showcasing Azerbaijani palace carpets from the 17th-18th centuries, has opened at the Turkish and Islamic Art Museum in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The exhibition showcases 18 unique carpets and artistic embroidery from the personal collection of U.S. citizen Amir Oskouei, an expert in antique rugs and textiles. It also includes world-renowned palace carpets featuring the compositions Afshan, Goja, and Khatai (“Dragon”), The Caspian Post reports, citing AZERTAC.

The opening ceremony was attended by Turkish state officials, Şamil Ayrım, Deputy of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and Head of the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Interparliamentary Friendship Group, Amir Oskouei, and art enthusiasts.

During the event, participants highlighted Azerbaijani-Turkish unity, the glorious victory achieved as a result of the Patriotic War, and the ongoing path toward a peace agreement. They also emphasized the importance of such events in promoting Azerbaijani culture to a wider audience.

Following the ceremony, visitors toured the exhibition, which will remain open until March 25, 2026.
