Heydar Aliyev Center Welcomes "Akinak" Historical Film Premiere

On April 15, the Heydar Aliyev Center premiered the historical film Akinak.

The presentation ceremony was attended by Director of the Heydar Aliyev Center Anar Alakbarov, Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, as well as well-known figures of culture and art, The Caspian Post reports, citing AZERTAC.

The film was produced by the "Narimanfilm" LLC with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Azerbaijan’s Cinema Agency.

Honored Artist Elkhan Jafarov directed the film, while the screenwriters include Ilgar Safat, Azar Ziyadli, Iravani and Latif Latifsoy, and cinematographer Ruslan Agazade.

The historical film is set in the ancient state of Ishguz (Inner Oghuz), which once existed in the territories of present-day Azerbaijan. The film is based on a story inspired by ancient history and mythological elements. The plot follows several young heroes who embark on a difficult and dangerous journey to obtain the ancient and symbolically significant sword, Akinak. Throughout their adventure, they face various challenges and come to understand the true meaning of friendship, loyalty, and courage. The film places special emphasis on themes of adventure and patriotism.

The film will hit Baku cinemas in May.
