UNESCO Headquarters in Paris hosted a meeting between the Chairperson of the Uzbekistan Art and Culture Development Foundation, Gayane Umerova, and Assistant Director-General for the Social and Human Sciences of UNESCO, Gabriela Ramos.
The establishment of the UNESCO-Uzbekistan Beruniy Prize for Scientific Research on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence and the holding of the first awarding ceremony in Samarkand as part of the 43rd Session of the UNESCO General Conference were discussed at the meeting, The Caspian Post reports, citing Uzbek media.
Such issues as strengthening cooperation in women’s support and participation in culture, education, and social initiatives were also discussed during the working meetings with the Director of the Gender Equality Division in the Office of the Director-General of UNESCO Begoña Lasagabaster.
Initiatives within the framework of the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy on women’s role in culture, art, and digital technologies were presented. Projects on the development of women’s leadership in the creative and digital sectors, as well as the creation of conditions for their professional development in culture, were discussed during the meeting.
Special emphasis was placed on the UNESCO report on Uzbekistan’s readiness to use artificial intelligence technologies, its participation in the UNESCO Youth Forum, and the initiative to organize the Exhibition “Uzbekistan at the Crossroads of the Great Silk Road” at UNESCO Headquarters.
