The health ministers of Azerbaijan and Georgia held a meeting on the sidelines of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) in Baku.

In his speech, Minister of Health of Azerbaijan Teymur Musayev emphasized that the historical and cultural ties between the Azerbaijani and Georgian peoples form the foundation of the relationship between the two countries, The Caspian Post reports, citing Azerbaijan's Ministry of Health. 

According to the minister, the traditional friendship between the two nations has lasted for centuries. He also highlighted the importance of high-level reciprocal visits, stating, “The friendship between the heads of state makes an invaluable contribution to the development and strengthening of close cooperation in all areas.”

Furthermore, the potential for expanding bilateral relations in the field of health between Azerbaijan and Georgia was emphasized. The minister pointed out that both countries have ample opportunities for modern methodological and scientific-practical exchanges in continuous professional education for their top medical specialists.

Musayev also underscored the significance and relevance of the issues discussed at COP29, noting the important role of the global health community in responding to the impacts of climate change and contributing to the improvement of global health security.

In conclusion, the Azerbaijani minister expressed confidence that bilateral cooperation between the two countries would continue to develop further.
