Russian President Vladimir Putin chaired a Security Council meeting on Thursday, marking his first such meeting in the past month.

The focus of the discussion was the development of industries producing dual-use goods, which have both civilian and military applications, The Caspian Post reports, citing Russian media. 

"Let's talk today about the development of certain industries that produce so-called dual-use goods. This is important both for the economy as a whole and for maintaining and improving the country's defense capability," Putin said in opening remarks.

He then passed the floor to Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov.
