Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed agreement with statements made by leaders of Duma factions, including the claim that a war has been declared on the "Russian world."
"Colleagues have spoken, asserting that a war has been declared on the 'Russian world,' and I agree - it is indeed so," Putin said in his closing remarks, The Caspian Post reports, citing Russian media.
Putin also agreed with Sergey Mironov, head of the "A Just Russia - For Truth" faction in the Duma, who said that "the birth rate is insufficient, because the matter concerns extinction."
Mironov earlier drew attention to the fact that the birth rate of 1.6 children per family does not ensure the reproduction of the nation, as it should exceed two for this purpose. "In the Soviet Union, the required two children per family were largely achieved through the republics that are no longer part of Russia," Putin noted.
