Uzbekistan's New Ambassador to Kabul Presents Credentials
The newly Uzbek ambassador, Mr. Usmanov, called the relations fraternal and pledged to further enhance bilateral relations during his tenure. Adding further, he called the exchange of high-level delegations between the two countries as an indication of close ties.

Today, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinaire & Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Afghanistan, Mr. Abibek Usmanov, presented a copy of his letter of credence to IEA-Foreign Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, The Caspian Post reports citing foreign media.
Welcoming the newly appointed Uzbek ambassador, FM Muttaqi assured him comprehensive cooperation in all related matters.
Describing the presence of active embassies of the two countries in both capitals as a positive indicator of progress in bilateral relations, FM Muttaqi stressed on taking pragmatic steps towards implementing major economic initiatives between the two nations.

No country has yet officially recognized the Islamic Emirate as the government of Afghanistan however, a number of regional countries have accepted and recognize IEA diplomatic missions.
