Azerbaijan’s wind power plants generated 606.4 million kWh of electricity during January-July this year, according to the State Statistical Committee.
This represents a 22-fold increase compared with the same period in 2025, Report informed.
A total of 15.17 billion kWh of electricity was generated in Azerbaijan during the reporting period, down 3% year-on-year. Of this, 14.73 billion kWh was commercial electricity, a 2.5% decrease from a year earlier.
Hydroelectric power plants accounted for 2.2 billion kWh of generation, up 5.6% year-on-year. Thermal power plants produced 11.44 billion kWh, down 8.7%.
Meanwhile, 141 million kWh of electricity was generated from biomass and waste incineration, representing a 6.7% increase.
Solar power plants generated 350 million kWh of electricity during the first seven months of the year, up 5% compared with January-July 2025.
