Central Asian Oil Deliveries via BTC Total 2.62 Million Tonnes

A total of 14.77 million tonnes of oil was transported through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in January-July 2026, marking an 8.6% decline from the same period last year.

During the reporting period, BTC accounted for 76.8% of oil transportation through Azerbaijan's main oil pipelines, APA reported.

“During the reporting period, 82.3% (12,154.7 thousand tonnes) of the oil transported via the BTC pipeline was oil produced in Azerbaijan, while 17.7% (2,618.5 thousand tonnes) was oil received from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan,” the statement noted.

It should be noted that last year, 36,306.2 thousand tonnes of oil were transported through oil pipelines in Azerbaijan, down 6.3% year-on-year. BTC accounted for 74.9% of transportation, and 27,179.2 thousand tonnes of oil were transported through this pipeline during the reporting period, down 7.8% year-on-year.

During the reporting period, 84.8%, or 23,056.9 thousand tonnes, of the oil transported via the BTC pipeline was oil produced in Azerbaijan (a decrease of 4.6%), while 15.2%, or 4,122.3 thousand tonnes (a decrease of 22.2%), was oil received from Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.
