Negotiations on a comprehensive strategic partnership between Armenia and Iran have been put on hold.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said the work on the agreement is currently suspended, noting that discussions are no longer on the immediate agenda, The Caspian Post reports via Armenian media.
“There were plans for a visit during which the document would be discussed, but at this stage, its implementation is not being considered,” he told journalists.
The development comes after earlier signals of progress. On February 6, Iran’s ambassador to Armenia, Khalil Shirgholami, said both sides were actively working on a comprehensive partnership framework.
