Two police officers were killed in an attack on a patrol in Bampur County in southeastern Iran.
The officers were identified as First Sergeant Dastgoshadeh, 24, and First Sergeant Amirhossein Ghasemi, 24, who served with the county police department. Both were born in Sari, a city in northern Iran, according to Iran International.
Earlier, Haalvsh, a human rights organization covering developments in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, reported that at least three people were killed when two police vehicles came under fire in Bampur County.
According to the organization, attackers opened fire on two Toyota SUVs. One of the vehicles overturned, while the number and condition of people inside remained unknown.
