Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad has resigned, with Hamid Boord, the head of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), appointed as acting minister.
Mohammad Mehdi Tabatabaei, Deputy of Communications and Information of the Office of the President, announced the change, according to RBC.ru.
“After accepting Mohsen Paknejad’s resignation, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian appointed Hamid Boord as acting oil minister by decree,” Tabatabaei wrote on X.
Boord, who previously headed the National Iranian Oil Company, will temporarily lead the Oil Ministry following Paknejad’s departure.
