More than 60% of Americans believe that Iran poses a “real threat” to the United States.

The poll found that 61% of respondents view Iran as a threat to the U.S. However, that figure marks a 12-percentage-point decline compared to June 2025. Meanwhile, the share of Americans who do not consider the Islamic Republic a threat rose from 24% to 38%, The Caspian Post reports via foreign media.

Public opinion on Washington’s current Iran policy appears sharply divided. Exactly 50% of respondents approve of the administration’s approach, while the same percentage disapprove.

In addition, 51% of those surveyed believe that recent attacks on Iran have made the U.S. less safe, while 29% say the strikes have improved national security.

The poll was conducted between February 28 and March 2, 2026, among 1,004 registered adult Americans. The margin of error does not exceed three percentage points.
