Iran’s Intelligence Ministry says it has arrested 30 individuals in recent days on accusations of spying, collaboration or acting as operational agents for the United States and Israel.
In a statement, the ministry said one of those detained is a foreign national who allegedly transferred sensitive security information to two Persian Gulf governments, The Caspian Post reports, citing Tasnim news agency.
According to the statement, the information was then passed on to the United States and Israel.
Iranian authorities also described 19 of the detainees as “field and media operatives linked to anti-government elements” who were allegedly in contact with Israel.
The ministry did not provide further details about the identities of those arrested or the circumstances of the alleged activities.
