Mansoureh Khojasteh Bagherzadeh, the wife of Iran’s slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, is alive.

Iran’s IRGC-affiliated Fars News agency on Thursday dismissed earlier reports that she had been killed, The Caspian Post reports.

Questions about her fate emerged earlier in the day after Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, made his first public statement without mentioning his mother’s death.

In the days following Ali Khamenei’s killing, several Iranian state media outlets had reported that his wife had also been killed, but the latest report says those claims were incorrect.
