Iran’s Navy said it targeted the command-and-control center aboard a U.S. Navy destroyer, claiming the action was in response to alleged U.S. provocations against Iranian commercial shipping and reported violations of maritime rules in the Strait of Hormuz and the Sea of Oman.

On Thursday night, following hostile actions and violations of maritime regulations in the Strait of Hormuz and aggression against Iranian commercial ships in the Sea of Oman by the U.S. military, the Iranian Navy said it identified and struck the command and control center of these operations, The Caspian Post reports, citing Pars Today.

The statement said the system was located on a U.S. Navy destroyer that had attempted to approach Iranian territorial waters in the Sea of Oman.

The Navy of the Islamic Republic of Iran added that it is continuously monitoring the criminal and aggressor American-Zionist enemy with full capability, and vowed to take severe retaliation for the blood of the honorable martyrs of the Dena destroyer, warning that any hostile action will be met with a rapid response.
