Trump Says US Strait of Hormuz Blockade Could Last Until Autumn

US President Donald Trump expressed hope for a quick end to the conflict with Iran but acknowledged that it could continue, with the US naval blockade near the Strait of Hormuz potentially lasting for several more months.

Trump made the remarks in an interview for the Pod Force One program of the The New York Post, The Caspian Post reports, citing Report.

The newspaper reported that Trump considered it possible for the US maritime blockade to remain in effect until Labor Day, September 7.

However, the US president emphasized that he considers such a scenario unlikely.

"I don't know. I think that could happen (an extension of the blockade until September - ed.). But it's unlikely. I think we'll solve all the problems, and fairly quickly," Trump said.

Trump also expressed optimism about the ongoing negotiations with Iran, stating that the situation is "moving quickly" and suggesting that progress toward a resolution may come sooner than expected.
