An Iranian oil tanker named Huge has bypassed a US naval blockade and arrived in Indonesia, according to data from TankerTrackers, The Caspian Post reports, citing Bloomberg.
Based on the firm’s satellite monitoring, the vessel-sailing under the Iranian flag-was anchored near the Port of Chabahar on April 13, shortly before the United States announced a blockade targeting Iranian ports. By May 3, the tanker had transmitted its position near the coast of Bali, with satellite images confirming its presence there.
TankerTrackers indicated that Huge appears to be the only tanker so far to have successfully navigated through the blockade.
Earlier, the United States Central Command stated that approximately 50 vessels had been blocked since the operation began on April 13, with Iranian tankers being redirected back toward Chabahar.
Bloomberg also noted an increasing number of Iranian ships stranded in waters near the port in recent days.
