Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani has declared that the country is in a “hot phase of war”.
Larijani said that a ceasefire has not yet been achieved and accused Israel of being behind the current situation, The Caspian Post reports via Russian news and analytical agency.
“Israel is responsible for the ongoing unrest,” he stated.
The official also warned that Iran’s society is facing attempts at division by “enemies,” with protesters targeting key national symbols, including the flag, mosques, and the Quran.
Larijani added that a “city-based quasi-terrorist group” is organizing the unrest, and firearms have been found among detained protesters.
