Tehran police have reported the arrest of an individual allegedly linked to Israel’s Mossad, detained during recent riots in the capital.

Authorities said the suspect claimed ties to an organization based in Germany and that he began his intelligence activities via Instagram by identifying users who liked certain posts, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iranian media.

Iranian security and intelligence forces apprehended him while he was operating undercover, posing as a participant in the Tehran riots. The suspect reportedly provided details on recruitment, training, and communication methods used in connection with Mossad.

According to his confessions, his assignments initially involved visiting people’s homes but later shifted to operations in marketplaces. He stated that the tasks were payment-based and that all procedures were taught via mobile phone.

The detainee also claimed he had acquired the ability to detect phone signals and numbers nearby and was instructed to communicate with designated individuals as part of his activities.
