An Israeli official has claimed that the assassination of Ali Larijani was enabled by intelligence gathered from residents of Tehran over the past 24 hours.

The official said that recent public appearances by Larijani - including participation in Quds Day events and interviews with local and international media - made him more visible and ultimately contributed to his identification, The Caspian Post reports, citing Iran International.

According to the same source, Israeli intelligence services have been receiving a steady flow of information that helps pinpoint the locations of Basij and IRGC checkpoints.

The official added that such reports have played a significant role in supporting ongoing operations.
