East Kazakhstan Shaken by Earthquake from Russian Epicenter

An earthquake was detected on February 15, at 06:52 AM Astana time by the Seismic Stations Network of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergencies.

The epicenter of the quake was in the territory of the Russian Federation, 1225 kilometers northeast of Almaty, The Caspian Post reports, citing Kazinform.

The estimated intensity (in points) in the territory of the East Kazakhstan region was as follows: Katon-Karagai village - 3.0, Markakol village - 3.0, Ulken-Naryn village 3.0, Altay town (Zyryanovsk) - 3.0, Buran village - 3.0, Ridder town (Leninogorsk) - 2.0, Zaysan town - 3.0, Kurshim (Kurchum) - 3.0, and Samarskoye village - 3.0.

No injuries or damages were reported.
