The Kazakh Spiritual Administration of Muslims has announced that Ramadan in Kazakhstan is expected to begin on February 19.
The sacred night of Laylat al-Qadr will fall on March 16-17, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.
Eid al-Fitr, locally known as Oraza Ait, is set for March 20, while Eid al-Adha, or Kurban Ait, will be observed between May 27 and 29.
Religious experts note that the exact dates of these holidays may shift by a day depending on the sighting of the new moon. Last year, Ramadan began on March 1 in Kazakhstan.
