Kazakh President Highlights Record-Breaking Trade with China

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has showcased Kazakhstan’s vast investment opportunities at the ongoing Kazakhstan-China Business Council in Beijing.

In his remarks, the president emphasized that China is not only a reliable neighbor but also a close friend and an enduring strategic partner of Kazakhstan, The Caspian Post reports via Kazakh media.

He highlighted that, grounded in shared history, mutual trust, and good neighborly relations, the two countries have established strong and dynamic business ties.

President Tokayev underlined China’s role as a global leader and a key partner for Kazakhstan in various sectors, particularly trade, crediting President Xi Jinping’s initiatives for fostering closer cooperation.

He noted that bilateral trade reached a historic high of $44 billion last year and stressed the ambition to further expand this figure over the next five years, given the significant untapped potential.

The 8th Kazakhstan-China Business Council officially opened in Beijing earlier this week.
