Kazakhstan and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral ties, as the two countries look to build on the momentum generated by high-level exchanges and expand cooperation across key areas.

Kazakh Ambassador to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin met with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari to discuss the current state of relations and prospects for strengthening the partnership, Qazinform News Agency reports.

President Zardari praised the progress in Kazakh-Pakistani cooperation and highlighted the growing momentum in bilateral relations. Particular attention was given to Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s state visit to Islamabad in February 2026, which provided fresh impetus to the countries’ strategic partnership.

The Pakistani president expressed appreciation for Kazakhstan’s efforts to strengthen bilateral ties and reaffirmed Islamabad’s interest in expanding cooperation across all areas of mutual interest.

The meeting came shortly after Ambassador Kistafin held talks with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on August 10. Sharif also praised the current state of relations between the two countries and stressed the importance of further developing mutually beneficial cooperation.
