Kazakhstan expects to transport around 1.5 million tons of oil via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in 2025, meeting the targets set at the start of the year.
Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov confirmed at a 2025 year-end briefing that there have been no deviations from the approved plan, and the target is expected to be fully achieved, The Caspian Post reports via local media.
For 2026, the plan also sets a volume of 1.5 million tons, with hopes of exceeding this figure.
Looking ahead, agreements between KazMunayGas and the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) foresee potential supplies of up to 2.2 million tons of oil per year via this route.
