Logistics challenges in the Black Sea, along with attacks on infrastructure operated by the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), are not currently prompting Kazakhstan to change its fundamental approach to oil exports.

Kazakhstan relies on the CPC pipeline to transport a large share of its oil to international markets, according to TASS.

The availability of tanker fleets, insurance conditions and freight rates remain dynamic and are influenced by a wide range of international factors.

At present, existing logistical issues are not considered grounds for changing Kazakhstan’s fundamental approach to oil exports.

Kazakhstan continues to closely monitor developments surrounding CPC infrastructure as well as the safety of shipping in the Black Sea.
